Sept. 5: Prince of Peace Baptist Church Pastoral & First Lady 5th Year Appreciation Services. The Prince of Peace membership will celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Pastor Carroll Carter and First Lady Louise Carter on Sunday, September 5th at 3:30 PM. The celebration will include an array of gospel musical and will be held at Solid Rock Baptist Church where Rev. Carroll Carter’s brother, the Rev. James Carter is Pastor. Sept.12: The Royalaires in Concert. Gospel music is filled with many groups and the Royalaires have been a local favorite for more than 38 years. If you want to see why they are still going strong, catch them in concert at New Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Also on the program are The Usurance of Lansing and special guests the Pilgrim Jubilees of Chicago and the Reverence Singers of Saginaw. New Mount Calvary is located at 3800 W. Sept. 15-17, 19: Grace Tabernacle Church Pastoral Anniversary. The membership of Grace Tabernacle Church will celebrate the13th Pastoral Anniversary of Reverend R.E. Nicholson. Grace Tabernacle is located at 1819 W. Willow, Lansing. Phone 487-6047.

Royalaires Singing Group.

The Royalaires performed at the First Annual Summer Gathering held August 14 in the backyard of the Faith UMC Church, 4301 S. Waverly Rd., Lansing, MI. The event was sponsored by the Faith United Methodist Church, the South Lansing Ministries, and the Churchhill Downs Neighborhood Assoc.

Sept. 17, 18 & 19: Women’s Day Program at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 500 S. Martin Luther King Blvd., Lansing, MI. Call: (517) 485-7705.

Sept. 17-18: A True Worship Experience for Women of Faith! The Women’s Ministry of New Mount Calvary Baptist Church is calling all women of faith, who in spite of the circumstances, will simply respond: Lord I Praise Thee! The conference will explore several topics including: Lifestyle of Praise and Worship; Keeping it Real and Praising Him Anyhow. Speakers will include Elder Sabrina Black of Detroit; Reverend Martha Jo Davis of Lansing (Mt Hope Church, Lansing); Sis. Christine Holman (Tithe Baptist Church, Lansing); Sis. Marion Love (River Rouge Bible Assembly, Detroit); Minister Qunita Williamston (True Light M B Church, Lansing). Friday activities are open to the public. Sept. 19: Musical Appreciation Program for J. C. Hemmingway. At 4 PM, St. Stevens’ Minister of Music, J. C. Hemingway will be honored for more than 16 years of service. This event will feature some special musical guests. St. Stephen’s Community Church, 1420 W. Oakland Avenue, Lansing. Rev. Dr. Michael Murphy, Pastor. The event is free and open to the public. Sept. 26: Calling all college students, MSU and LCC, join the Campus Ministry Outreach/worship service at 11:00 a.m. at Mask Memorial CME Church, 5601 S. Waverly Road, Lansing, Michigan. Sept. 26: The Installation of Officers service will be held at 4 p.m. at Mask Memorial CME Church, 5601 S. Waverly Road, Lansing, MI, Rev. A. Richard Doss, Pastor. Special guests will be Rev. James Hendricks, Pastor and congregation of the St. Peter CME Church, Flint, MI. A worship service dedicated to the commitment and the work of christian ministry. Please join us.

Sept. 29-30; October 1 & 3rd: West Lansing Church of God Celebrate Pastor and First Lady 15th Anniversary. The evening service on Friday, October 1st will be hosted by the Lansing Pastors Conference. Oct. 24: Prince of Peace Baptist Church Annual Women’s Day Program. Reverend Alice Lartigue will be the featured speaker to light up the word for 2004 Women’s Day.
